The markets have gone crazy.  The Dow is down, the Dow is up, the Dow is down, and down.  And down... 

And the value of your house?  How can you tell? 

There are the on-line valuation sites.  But they are not necessarily accurate.  Those sites use an Automated Valuation Model, or AVM.  A major source of information for AVM's is public records - which are often incomplete.  There is no inspection - no confirmation of condition or quality.  And when there are no recent sales in your neighborhood, the AVM can't rely on years of experience and training to accurately estimate the value of your house!
